Now the just shall live by faith. - Hebrews 10:38
Hebrews 10:38 teaches that we should live by faith. Yet sometimes, despite our best intentions, negative feelings can rob us of the peace and abundance that would otherwise be ours through Christ. When anger or anxiety separate us from the spiritual blessings that God has in store, we must rethink our priorities and renew our faith. And we must place faith above feelings. Human emotions are highly variable, decidedly unpredictable, and often unreliable. Our emotions are like weather, only far more fickle. So we must learn to live by faith, not by the ups and downs of our own emotional roller coasters.
Sometimes during this day, you will probably be gripped by a strong negative emotion. Distrust it. Reign it in. Test it. And turn it over to God. Your emotions will inevitably change; God will not. So trust Him completely as you watch your feelings slowly evaporate into thin air - which , of course, they will.

Savior Jesus, we have faith, though at times it is very little. But sometimes our feeling replace the faith that you call us to have. Help us so that our feelings will never overtake our faith in you. Amen.

ReplyDeleteProverbs 3:5 tells us tp
ReplyDeleteTrust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. When we trust the Lord, we understand that He is going to take care of us. Many times, we react to things not knowing what will happen next. God already knows the outcome of the situation you are going through. Remember you could be going through somoething today that is tied to an emotional response, and God may have determined that the trial will be last for a week. All that to say when faith rises above feelings, you are putting your trust in God to take care of you know matter how you feel about the situation
