Who Should You Please?

A peaceful heart leads to a healthy body; jealousy is like cancer in the bones. - Proverbs 14:30

Sometimes, it's very tempting to be a people-pleaser. But usually, it's the wrong thing to do.

When you worry too much about pleasing people, you may not worry enough about pleasing God - and when you fail to please God, you inevitably pay a very high price for your mistaken priorities.

Whom will you try to please today: God or your friends? Your obligation is most certainly not to other people. Your obligation is most certainly not to you peers. Your obligation is to an all-knowing and perfect God. Trust Him always. Love Him always. Praise Him always. And seek to please Him and only Him. Always.

Prayer from the Blogger:
Lord Jesus,
Transform our desires so that we may want to please You above all others. Help us to remain focused on You. Thus causing us to trust, love, and praise You always.
Amen

Read the following passage -

James 3:13-18

English Standard Version (ESV)

Wisdom from Above

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. 14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. 15 This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. 17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. 18 And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
