Faith-filled Christian

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will support you; He will neveer allow the righteous to be shaken. - Psalm 55:22

Pessimism and Christianity don't mix. Why? Because Christians have every reason to be optimistic about life here on earth and life eternal. As C. H. Spurgeon observed, "Our hope in Christ for the future is the mainstream of our joy." But sometimes, we fall prey to worry, fustration, anxiety, or sheer exhaustion, and our hearts become heavy. What's needed is plenty of rest, a large dose of perspective, and God's healing touch, but not neccessarily in that order.

Today, make this promise to yourself and keep it: vow to be a hope-filled Christian. Think optimistically about your life and your future. Trust your hopes, not your fears. Take time to celebrate God's glorious creation. And then, when you've filled our heart with hope and gladness, share it with others. They will be better for it, and so will you. But not neccessarily in that order.

Prayer from the Blogger:
Lord Jesus,
All our hopes are found in You. Today we want to trust in You, and not our fears.
Amen

Digging Deeper:
Read the folowing passage -

Psalm 55:20-23

New Living Translation (NLT)

20 As for my companion, he betrayed his friends;
he broke his promises.
21 His words are as smooth as butter,
but in his heart is war.
His words are as soothing as lotion,
but underneath are daggers!
22 Give your burdens to the Lord,
and he will take care of you.
He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.
23 But you, O God, will send the wicked
down to the pit of destruction.
Murderers and liars will die young,
but I am trusting you to save me.

Challenge:
Think optimistically about your life and your future. Trust your hopes, not your fears.
