Using Our Gifts

I remind you to keep using the gift God gave you...Now let it grow, as a small flame grows into a fire. - 2 Timothy 1:6

Face it: you've got an array of talents that need to be refined. All people possess special gifts - bestowed from the Father above - and you are no exception. But, your particular gift is no guarantee of success; it must be cultivated -  by you - or it will go unused...and God's gift to you will be squandered.

Are you willing to do the hard work that's required to discover your talents and to develop them? If you are wise, you'll answer "yes." After all, if you don't make the most of your talents, who has the most to lose? You do!

So make a promise to yourself that you will earnestly seek to discover the talents that God has given you. Then, nourish those talents and make them grow. Finally, vow to share your gifts with the world for as long as God gives you the power to do so. After all, the best way to say "Thank You" for God's gifts is to use them.

Prayer from the Blogger:
Jesus,
Thank You, for the gifts you have given me. Help me to nourish and grow them, so that I may use them to nourish and grow Your kingdom.
Amen

2 Timothy 1:3-7

New Century Version (NCV)

Encouragement for Timothy

I thank God as I always mention you in my prayers, day and night. I serve him, doing what I know is right as my ancestors did. Remembering that you cried for me, I want very much to see you so I can be filled with joy. I remember your true faith. That faith first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice, and I know you now have that same faith. This is why I remind you to keep using the gift God gave you when I laid my hands on[a] you. Now let it grow, as a small flame grows into a fire. God did not give us a spirit that makes us afraid but a spirit of power and love and self-control.

Challenge:
Earnestly seek to discover the talents that God has given you. Then, nourish those talents and make them grow.
