Slow Down

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to proverty. - Proverbs 21:5

Everybody knows you're a very busy person. But here's a question: are you able to sqeeze time into your hectic schedule for God? Hopefully so! But if you're one of those who rush through the day with scarcely a single moment to talk with your Creator, it's time to reshuffle your priorities.

You live in a noisy world, a world filled with distractions, fustrations, temptations, and complications. But if you allow the distractions of everyday life to distract you from God's peace, you're doing yourself a big disservice. So here's some good advice: instead of rushing nonstop through the day, slow yourself down long enough to have a few quiet minutes with God.

Nothing is more important than the time you spend with your Heavenly Father. Absolutely nothing. So be still and claim the inner peace that is your spiritual birthright: the peace of Jesus Christ. It is offered freely; it has been paid for in full; it is yours for the asking. So ask. And then share.

Digging Deeper:
Read the following passage -

Proverbs 21:1-5

New Century Version (NCV)
21 The Lord can control a king’s mind as he controls a river;
he can direct it as he pleases.
You may believe you are doing right,
but the Lord judges your reasons.
Doing what is right and fair
is more important to the Lord than sacrifices.
Proud looks, proud thoughts,
    and evil actions are sin.
The plans of hard-working people earn a profit,
but those who act too quickly become poor.

Challenge:
Spend a few minutes with God today, and every day.
